Promptly Mom was built on a simple idea: moms do better when they support each other. Our community — the Mom Circles, the shared tips, the honest conversations — only works when everyone in it feels safe, respected, and genuinely welcome.
This Code of Conduct sets the expectations for how we all show up here. It applies to every member, in every space on Promptly Mom: your profile, the Mom Circles, posts and replies, prompts you share with the community, any messaging features we add, and anywhere else you interact with our community.
These aren't just rules. They are the values of this community written down. Most of you will never need to think about them twice — you already live by them. They exist so that the rare exception can't ruin what everyone else is building.
Binding Part of Your Agreement:
This Code of Conduct is a binding part of your agreement with Promptly Mom. By creating an account and using our Services, you agree to follow it. Violations may result in content removal, suspension of Mom Circle access, or permanent removal from the platform, at Promptly Mom's sole discretion.
The Golden Rule
The Golden Rule of Promptly Mom
"Would I be comfortable saying this in a room full of moms I just met?"
If the answer is yes, you're probably good. If you're not sure, reconsider. If the answer is no, don't post it.
Promptly Mom is a space built on warmth, honesty, and the shared understanding that parenting is hard — and nobody needs to make it harder. Assume good faith. Lead with kindness. Disagree without tearing each other down.
The Rules
The following rules apply everywhere on Promptly Mom. Specific Mom Circles may have additional rules set by their Circle moderators, posted in the Circle's description. In all cases, the rules below are the floor, not the ceiling.
Rule 1: Be Human. Be Kind.
Treat every member as a real person going through real things. Sarcasm, condescension, and passive-aggression have no place here. Constructive disagreement is welcome — personal attacks are not.
DO: Offer support, share your experience, disagree respectfully, work collaboratively, and ask questions with genuine curiosity.
DON'T: Mock, belittle, insult, or publicly shame another member — even indirectly or "jokingly."
If you wouldn't say it to someone's face over coffee, don't say it here.
Rule 2: No Harassment, Bullying, or Threats.
Harassment is not tolerated in any form. This includes behavior directed at a member inside or outside the App that a reasonable person would find unwanted, hostile, or intimidating.
Prohibited conduct includes:
- Sending unwanted messages, repeated contact after a member has indicated they want you to stop, or coordinating others to target a member.
- Threatening harm to any person, their family, pets, property, or reputation.
- Using our platform to continue a dispute or conflict that originated elsewhere.
- Contacting a member through other channels to continue behavior they've blocked or reported here.
Violations of this rule may result in immediate suspension pending review.
Rule 3: No Hate Speech or Discrimination.
Promptly Mom is for every mom. Content that attacks, demeans, or dehumanizes a person or group based on any protected characteristic is strictly prohibited. Protected characteristics include but are not limited to: race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, family structure, parenting choices, immigration status, or socioeconomic background.
There is no "it was just a joke" exception. Context matters, but content that causes genuine harm to a group will be removed regardless of stated intent.
Rule 4: Protect Privacy. Never Doxx.
Do not share any personal information about another person — whether a member of this community or anyone else — without their explicit consent. This applies even if the information is technically "public" somewhere else. Information about children is especially protected.
- Real names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, or workplace information.
- Photos, screenshots, or identifying details shared in confidence elsewhere.
- Any information about a person's family members, children, or household.
Rule 5: Keep It Real. No Misinformation or Impersonation.
Our community depends on trust. Deliberately spreading false information — especially on topics affecting health, safety, child development, or medical care — undermines that trust and can cause real harm.
DO NOT: Post content you know to be false, or that a reasonable person would recognize as dangerous misinformation, particularly regarding medical treatments, vaccines, medications, or child health recommendations.
DO NOT: Misrepresent yourself as another member, a Promptly Mom employee or official, a healthcare provider, legal professional, or any other individual or organization.
Rule 6: No Spam, Self-Promotion, or Commercial Solicitation.
Mom Circles are for genuine community connection — not marketing channels. Prohibited conduct includes:
- Posting the same or substantially similar content across multiple Circles.
- Soliciting purchases, referrals, or sign-ups for outside products or services without prior approval from Promptly Mom.
- Operating fake accounts, or using bots, scripts or other automation to post, like, or engage with content. This does not apply to posts and replies the Promptly assistant publishes for you at your request after you confirm the exact words; those are your posts, and this Code applies to them as if you had typed them yourself.
- Recruiting members to join multi-level marketing programs, investment schemes, or subscription services.
Sharing products you genuinely love, in context, is the spirit of this community. Turning every post into an advertisement is not. If you have a great idea you want to build, reach out to us at admin@promptlymom.com.
Rule 7: No Harmful or Illegal Content.
Do not post, share, or link to content that:
- Depicts, facilitates, or promotes illegal activity of any kind.
- Sexualizes or endangers any person, especially minors.
- Promotes or glorifies self-harm, eating disorders, or suicide.
- Contains graphic violence or disturbing imagery.
- Facilitates the unauthorized collection or sharing of another person's personal data.
- Infringes on the intellectual property rights of any individual or company.
Promptly Mom will report content that constitutes a credible threat to human safety, child exploitation, or other serious criminal activity to appropriate authorities without prior notice.
Rule 8: Respect the Circle. Stay On Topic.
Each Mom Circle has a purpose and a community built around it. Respect that.
- Post content that is relevant to the Circle's stated topic and purpose.
- Follow any additional rules posted by Circle moderators in their Circle description.
- Do not use Circle spaces to continue arguments or feuds from other areas of the platform.
Circle moderators look after their Circles: they can approve requests to join, make other members moderators, hide or remove posts and replies, keep or remove content that members have reported, and remove members from the Circle, always consistently with this Code of Conduct. Their decisions on Circle-specific content are final, subject to appeal to Promptly Mom in cases involving potential violations of this Code. If you have your own topic and want to form your own Mom Circle, please do!
Rule 9: Use the Report Button. Don't Take Matters Into Your Own Hands.
If you see something that violates this Code of Conduct, report it using the in-app reporting tool. Do not publicly call out or shame the member, coordinate with others to target them, or attempt to take enforcement action yourself.
Your reports are never ignored. A report about a post or reply goes to that Circle's moderators and to our team, and every report is reviewed by a human member of our team. We may not always be able to share the outcome of a review due to privacy considerations, but we act on every credible report.
Enforcement: How We Handle Violations
Promptly Mom takes a proportional approach to enforcement. Promptly Mom reserves the sole and absolute right to remove any content, restrict any account, remove any member from any or all Mom Circles, suspend any account, or permanently ban any user from the platform, at any time, for any conduct that violates this Code of Conduct or that we determine, in our sole discretion, is harmful to our community.
The App also checks the text of posts, replies and edits before they are published, including posts and replies the Promptly assistant publishes for you, and may stop one that looks like it breaks this Code. If that happens to something you wrote, you can reword it and try again.
| Action | What It Means | When Applied |
|---|---|---|
| Friendly Reminder | A private email explaining the rule and how the content violated it. No further action taken. | First-time, minor, or clearly unintentional violations. |
| Content Removal | The specific post or reply is removed. The account remains in good standing. | Content that violates the rules but does not indicate a pattern of behavior. |
| Circle Removal | The member is removed from one or more Mom Circles. They may still access other areas of the App. | Repeated or targeted violations within a Circle; Circle-specific rule violations. |
| Temporary Suspension | Account access is restricted for a set period (typically 3–30 days). The member is notified by email. | Repeated violations, harassment, misinformation, or other conduct harmful to the community. |
| Permanent Ban | Account is permanently deactivated. The member may not create a new account. We do not refund unused subscription time; refunds of purchases made through Apple or Google are handled by that store under its own policies. | Severe violations including threats, CSAM, doxxing, hate speech, or patterns of repeated violations after prior warnings. |
Appeals
We believe in fairness. If you receive an enforcement action and believe it was applied in error, you have the right to appeal.
- Submit your appeal within 14 days of receiving notice of the enforcement action.
- Send your appeal to: admin@promptlymom.com with the subject line "Code of Conduct Appeal."
- Include your account name, the action taken, and a clear explanation of why you believe the decision was in error.
- Our team will review your appeal and respond within 10 business days.
- Appeals are reviewed by a member of the Promptly Mom team who was not involved in the original enforcement decision.
- Appeals are limited to one per enforcement action. Promptly Mom's decision on appeal is final. Appeals that are abusive or that contain threats toward our team will be denied without further consideration.
How to Report a Violation
- Open the menu on any post or reply and choose Report Post or Report Reply. To report a prompt someone has shared with the community, choose Report Prompt.
- Where the App asks for a reason, a few words of context help the people reviewing your report.
- To stop seeing someone's posts and replies anywhere in Mom Circles, choose Block Member from the same menu. They won't be told, and blocking also lets our team know. You can undo it in Account → Blocked Members.
- For urgent matters involving threats to personal safety, illegal activity, or content involving the exploitation of minors, email admin@promptlymom.com directly. We monitor this address 7 days a week.
- Reports are confidential. The person you report will not be notified that a report was filed by you.
A Note on Circle Moderators
Each Mom Circle is looked after by its moderators: the member who started it, and members the Circle's existing moderators have been made moderators, either directly or by approving a member's request. Moderators are expected to enforce this Code of Conduct within their Circles and may not use their role to:
- Target, harass, or retaliate against members.
- Create or enforce Circle rules that conflict with this Code.
- Exclude members from a Circle based on any protected characteristic.
- Promote their own commercial interests in ways that exploit their Circle's members.
Promptly Mom reserves the right to remove Moderator status from any member at any time, for any reason, and to dissolve any Circle that we determine is being operated in a manner inconsistent with the values and rules of this community.
Updates to This Code
Promptly Mom may update this Code of Conduct at any time. We will notify you of material changes by:
- Posting the updated Code with a revised effective date.
- Sending a notification through the App.
- And/or emailing you at the address associated with your account.
